They’re also exhilarating, challenging, unpredictable, dynamic, and wildly creative!
I probably don’t need to say more… but I will…
In early 2022, I began consulting with the founder of what became Verve Behavioral Health to help launch a state-of-the-art outpatient treatment center for substance use and co-occurring disorders in Washington, DC. With over 35 years of clinical expertise and deep roots in the DC market, this was an opportunity I couldn’t resist. It was an exciting, hand-in-glove fit which quickly became an imperative. Building Verve from the ground up was a complete start-up experience.
Alongside the Founder & CEO, I immersed myself in the multifaceted process of bringing the vision to life. From identifying community needs to designing programming and hiring a skilled, dedicated team, we built something foundational and meaningful. As our Dupont Circle build-out progressed, a vibrant space and mission-driven program emerged.
At Verve, I wore many hats. My roles included Chief Clinical Officer, Partner, strategist, recruiter, program designer, marketing lead, website editor and all while I was the main presence on the ground day to day!
I collaborated in designing innovative, experiential programming, recruiting exceptional clinicians, cultivating a team culture focused on collaboration, and creativity all with a highly client-centered focus. Together we shaped a therapeutic environment where every team member knew every client. We were dedicated to ensuring holistic clinical excellence.
While my day-to-day role at Verve came to a close, my commitment to finding and creating transformational work continues unabated. Today, my consulting practice supports those who are building, leading, and scaling mission-driven organizations.
I bring insight, candor, creativity, caring and curiosity to each engagement. My decades of experience support the growth of founders, teams and their organizations. As a result, their services and vital offerings have greater impact and success.
This is the mandate behind the Capital Networking Group*, in addition to all the professional dinners and lunches I host and in the countless connections I facilitate across the behavioral health field. I love helping clinical professionals and treatment centers expand their reach, attract the right people, and create lasting relationships.
Call it high-touch consulting. Call it human-centered strategy. I call it what I’ve always done: helping people to build dynamic relationships and bring their boldest ideas to life.
*The Capital Networking Group or CNG, is a collaboration of professionals nationwide, working together to help those suffering with mental health, substance abuse and addiction issues.
CNG is a National Listserv which I founded in 2010 from monthly luncheons with collegial connections. These grew into an organization that now serves over 1500 behavioral health professionals across the country, with new members joining daily. We continue to have luncheons to which all are welcome. In addition we now host events that support and enhance the behavioral health field.
